Who am I?

Hometown: Fairfax, VA; Made in Vietnam

About Me:

I was born in a small fishing town in Vietnam. I like eating seafood, such as shellfish and clams, but I can't really eat cooked fish; I would gag. My mother kept trying to feed me different fish, but the result would always be the same. She still does it sometimes when I'm home. I graduated from George Mason University and was a volunteer EMT for 5 years. After I got accepted to Touro Master's Program, I traveled to Saint Augustine, FL for 5 months, working a temp job there.

Fun Fact:

We were considered homeless for a while and kept moving between shelters and motels. That may have been a sad fact, but it's funny now. We toughed it out, just a mother and three kids. It's funny because when they made me do the background check, I couldn't remember half of these places.

Goals in SGA:

I want to embody Touro's mission statement of promoting inclusivity, ethical behaviors, and social responsibility.

Who am I?

Hometown: Lindenhurst, NY

About Me:

I am from Long Island. I graduated with a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from SUNY Albany in 2018. While in Albany I was a STEM tutor, Resident Assistant, worked in a restaurant, and was the Vice President of Programming for Phi Delta Epsilon. Before I started the master’s program at Touro, I worked as an EMT in Long Island, where I solidified my dream of becoming a doctor. I received my master’s degree in 2022 from Touro and was a part of class 2026. Due to medical reasons, I had to leave. But now I am back and super excited to be a part of class of 2027 and grateful to be your Vice President!

Fun Fact:

I have 5 sisters, one being my twin sister, then also identical twin sisters!

Goals in SGA:

I want to be a voice for the student body by helping promote new clubs that allow us to take things we are passionate about and make them a club at Touro. I also want to optimize the club event approval process by allowing clubs to easily monitor their events and progress. Lastly, to make sure clubs are having meaningful events, fostering an environment where we are learning, giving back to the community, and most importantly having fun while doing so!

Who am I?

Hometown: Latham, NY

About Me:

I grew up in upstate NY and went to undergrad at SUNY Albany and got a degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish! My family is originally from Egypt, and I've been back to visit a few times - I hope to go more! Before medical school, I worked in public health as a community educator and launched a sun safety initiative installing sunscreen dispensers at parks and recreational sites throughout the county I grew up in.

Fun Fact:

I have a cat named Mau who is super energetic and loves to climb (on things she shouldn't). I like reading, trying new foods, and honestly, watching TV shows and movies. Most of all, I am a fragrance lover! I love perfume and matching it to the weather, season, plans, and mood. I'd like to think I have grown a bit of a collection!

Goals in SGA:

My goals are to increase opportunities for students to gain TOUCH hours, and expand diversity and inclusivity initiatives with the SGA!

Who am I?

Hometown: New Milford, PA

About Me:

I grew up in a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania playing a lot of sports and moved on to attend Penn State University for my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I enjoy traveling to new places and am always up for trying new foods - so if you want to share I’ll have a bite. I have a small addiction to Starbucks, but it’s also how I promote wellness for myself...so it’s okay. I have had a role in student government throughout all my school life because of my love for being an advocate for my peers. I am so excited to work alongside all of you to try and make medical school the best experience it can be!

Fun Fact:

I like to make ice cream!

Goals in SGA:

I want to deliver the wants and ideas of our student body through our committees to help continue making our campus family-like and provide opportunities to “forget” about school.

Who am I?

Hometown: Bridgeport, CT

About Me:

My parents, who both work in healthcare, immigrated from Jamaica. Therefore, I am Jamaican-American, in which I have great pride. The way my parents have encouraged me and provided for me is something I am very grateful for. I have 4 brothers and 1 sister - and yes, I am the youngest. One of my brothers was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis at a young age. As you can see, my aspiration to be a doctor not only was inspired by my parents but also by what I saw and experienced from caring professionals who took care of my brother. I even got to shadow one of his pediatricians!

Fun Fact:

I have pup named Mocha (she even has her own white coat). I have been drawing since I was 4 and am an award-winning professional artist (@hunterparkerart on Instagram)! I won my first award in 2015 during high-school where I was recognized by my state. I do all kinds of art, but preferably nowadays, mainly digital. I also am in love with Sanrio characters, my favorite being Cinnamoroll and Pompompurin. And I have a plushie collection!

Goals in SGA:

We all know medical school is stressful but I want to make everyone’s lives at Touro more colorful through my creativity. I will do this by making our content more engaging and influencing everyone to participate so that we don’t have to think about our studies 24/7. I will also serve as an advocate for increasing the diversity in our student body because we need more minority physicians!
